Introduction To Our Powerhouse Shopify Theme Tutorial Series

A series of tutorial focused on showcasing our Powerhouse Shopify Theme.

What Is Powerhouse?

Powerhouse is the most sophisticated Shopify Theme on the market. With Powerhouse you can quickly set up a store and start selling. Powerhouse is a polished theme used by big eCommerce brands.

Getting Started

After you’ve purchased Powerhouse go to your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes. Click the [Upload theme] button and select the powerhouse.zip file.

Once the Powerhouse theme is uploaded click Customize. You are now in the Theme Editor.

Theme Editor

Use the theme editor to customize your theme. The theme editor toolbar is divided into Sections and Theme settings.

You can use sections to modify the content and layout of the different pages on your store. You can use theme settings to customize your store’s fonts and colors, and make changes to your social media links and checkout settings.

Theme Settings

The Theme Settings are where you set your Favicon. The Favicon is the icon that appears in your browser tab. Control the store’s Typography. Set the Contact Page details and customize your Checkout.

Sections

Sections are customizable blocks of content that determine the layout of different pages on your online store.

Some sections like the Header appear on every page of your online store.

Home has dynamic sections that you can add, re-arrange, or remove. You can have up to 25 sections on your home page. Each type of page has its own sections.

For example, the product page section determines the layout of each product page on your online store.

Header

In the header section, you can edit the content that appears at the top of every page in your store.

Click Sections. Click Header.

The Announcement Bar is shown by default. Uncheck to hide.

Before adding the Header Logo toggle your Theme Editor’s preview to mobile.

To add the Header Logo click [Select image]. For best results upload a suggested 600px by 360px or 5:1 ratio sized image.

If you don’t add a logo image, then your store’s name shows instead. You can change your store name on the General settings page in the admin.

We recommend to keep the Mobile Menu Button Text field value as “Shop”. When you click on shop it slides in Mobile Left Sidebar Menu.

Click Save.

For the next part we will leave the Theme Editor. Go to your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Pages. Click [Add page].

Set the page Title to “Contact”. Set the page Content to your business details. Set the Template to “page.contact”.

Click Save.

Now let’s go back to the Theme Editor Header section. Online Store > Themes. Click customize. Click Header.

In the Second Mobile Menu Button field select the Contact page we just created.

We recommend to keep the Second Mobile Menu Button Text field value as “Contact”.

Before selecting the Desktop Left Menu toggle your Theme Editor’s preview back to desktop.

For Desktop Left Menu Main Menu should be chosen by default. Click Change to choose a different menu. Choose an existing menu, or create a new one by clicking Create menu. If you don’t want to show a menu in your header, then click Remove.

The Account is shown in the Header by default. Uncheck to hide.

The Search is shown in the Header by default. Uncheck to hide.

Click Save.

Mobile Left Sidebar Menu

In the Mobile Left Sidebar Menu section, you can choose, change, or remove the mobile menu from the left sidebar.

Click Sections. Click Mobile Left Sidebar Menu.

The Search is shown in the Mobile Left Sidebar Menu by default. Uncheck to hide.

For Mobile Menu Main Menu should be chosen by default. To choose which menu to show in the header, in the Desktop Left Menu area, click Change.

Click Save.

The next section is Offcanvas Cart. We are going to skip this section for now.

Trust

In the Trust section, you can edit the content that appears at the bottom above the footer of every page in your store.

The Trust section is shown be default, uncheck Show Section to hide.

Select the Trust Icon and enter the Trust Icon Text you want four times.

Click Save.

Footer

In the Footer section, you can edit the content that appears at the bottom of every page in your store.

To customize the Footer section from your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes. Find Powerhouse and click Customize.

Click Sections. Click Footer.

To add the Footer Logo click [Select image].

If you don’t add a logo image, then your store’s name shows instead. You can change your store name on the General settings page in the admin.

Add your Footer Social Handle, leave empty to hide.

Add your Footer Email, leave empty to hide.

Add your Facebook Link, leave empty to hide.

Add your Twitter Link, leave empty to hide.

Add your Instagram Link, leave empty to hide.

Add your YouTube Link, leave empty to hide.

Add your Footer Menu Title, leave empty to hide.

In Footer Menu click [Select menu] to choose which menu to show in the footer. Choose an existing menu, or create a new one by clicking Create menu. If you don’t want to show a menu in your footer, then click Remove.

Add your Footer Menu Title, leave empty to hide.

In SecondaryFooter Menu click [Select menu] to choose which menu to show in the footer. Choose an existing menu, or create a new one by clicking Create menu. If you don’t want to show a menu in your footer, then click Remove.

Show newsletter signup is checked by default, uncheck to hide Footer newsletter signup.

Show payment icons is checked by default, uncheck to hide Footer payment icons.

Click Save.
